CLASS CANCELLATIONS/WEATHER CLOSINGS
Class Observation for CLASSES
We recommend all students arrive 10-15 minutes before the first class, camp day, drop-in class, or private to fill out paperwork. After that, we suggest that students plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before the start of class.
Location of Drop Off & Pick Up
8535 Airport Freeway, Ste 200, North Richland Hills, TX 76180 - Shine Fitness Studio is located in the shopping center with Spectrum, near the At Home store. Our building has a blue awning and is an off white color. Our entrance is at the top of the wide staircase with two sets of double doors. Please drop off and pick up your child in the lobby area near the front desk.
Students that arrive more than 10 minutes late to any class are welcome to stay and watch, but they will not be allowed to participate. It is dangerous to engage in any aerial-related activities without a proper warm-up.
We recommend that parents and guardians arrive before your child’s class ends for pick-up. Shine Fitness Studio is not in a position to properly supervise a child after class is dismissed. Youth will stay with their teacher and at 5 minutes after class has ended will be escorted to the Front Desk. For excessive late pickups (after 2 instances without communication), there could be an additional charge. If you’re running late, please call us at 817.756.1313.
For their safety, students should wear street clothes and shoes when entering and leaving Shine Fitness Studio.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Policy
Please be advised that aerial practice involves physical contact. Instructors will often need to make hands-on contact to adjust students’ form and to demonstrate proper motion.
Students and parents should keep instructors informed of any recent illness, injury, or other condition that may interfere with their aerial practice.
Spotting - Instructors will always ask students for consent before spotting them physically. If the student does not grant consent, the instructor will visually spot the student and provide verbal guidance.
STUDENT-TEACHER INTERACTION
When teachers are working one-on-one with students, such as in a private lesson or in a solo class, we require that parents or guardians remain for the duration of the lesson in the same room as the student and instructor. Youth are never alone with an adult in any room with a closed door.
Rule of Three
Shine Fitness Studio has a zero tolerance for violence and abuse. Shine Fitness Studio will report to the appropriate authorities any situation in which we have reasonable cause to believe a child is suffering from physical, emotional, or sexual abuse or neglect.
All Shine Fitness Studio youth teachers undergo the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services online tutorial on mandated reporting in the State of Texas.
Mandatory Reporting
All Shine team members are First Aid, CPR, and AED certified for child and adult through the American Heart Association. Our team undergoes recertification every two years to stay up to date with the latest techniques and safety protocols.
FIRST AID, CPR, AED CERTIFICTIONS
There are no designated bathroom breaks for youth programs. We strongly recommend that parents and guardians have their child use the bathroom before class begins to ensure uninterrupted class time. Youth students who need to leave class to use the bathroom during class can be excused to do so at the teacher’s discretion.
During Aerial Camp, there are designated bathroom breaks between activities. Youth students who need to leave class to use the bathroom at times other than the designated bathroom breaks can be excused to do so at the teacher’s discretion.
Instructors and counselors are not permitted to accompany students into the bathroom or assist them in using the bathroom.
Bathroom Breaks
Private and semi-private lessons are available for all youth participants. During private lessons, the focus will be on building foundational skills to prepare the student for entering a class. We do not teach skills that are above the student’s level.
Youth under the age of 7 may take Private Lessons at Shine Fitness Studio with the additional supervision by their parent(s) or guardian(s).

Liability Waivers
Welcome! We are excited that you’re exploring Shine Fitness Studio! We aim to make your family’s aerial experience as fun, safe, and awesome as possible! Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions. For your benefit, some commonly asked questions can be found below.
No, we require each student, regardless of age, to have their own Shine Fitness Studio Momence account with which to sign up for classes, camps, workshops, etc.
Can I sign my child up under my Shine Fitness Studio account?
Some things learned in class can be practiced at home (stretching, conditioning, etc.) However, we encourage youth to keep aerial tricks inside the studio under the guidance of our trained aerial instructors. If your child wants to practice the skills learned in classes outside of the time there, you may schedule a Private Lesson for more focused practice time with a teacher. Older teens with more experience can attend Open Studio with teacher permission.
Should my child practice what they’ve learned outside of class?
For classes, please add your child to the waitlist. Joining the waitlist not only potentially lets them join the class in case of a cancellation, but it also lets us know if a class is popular enough to warrant an additional scheduling.
What if a class is full?
No make-ups, credits, or refunds will be provided for any days your child misses a class.
What if my child can't make it to a scheduled class date/time?
Classes are 60 minutes and may have between three (3) and twenty (20) students. We have a ratio of 6 students to 1 aerial instructor. Classes are subject to being canceled in the event there are fewer than 3 students enrolled for a given session. Full refunds will be provided in this case.
What are the class sizes and lengths?
It is best to register as far in advance as possible to ensure that you have the spot you want. Some of our classes get booked up weeks in advance and camps can get full months ahead of time. You can register for all of our classes and camps in advance on our website or through Momence. Email info@dfwkidsaerials.com if you have any issues enrolling your child.
How much time in advance do I need to sign up for a class?
We ask that you try not to have your child arrive more than 15 minutes before their scheduled class. Please allow time to locate parking on site if needed, which can take extra time at peak hours. If your child arrives 10 minutes or more after the start of their class, they will not be allowed to join the class, for their safety and the safety of the other students.
When should my child arrive for class?
For most of our aerial classes, we recommend close-fitting workout clothes. No denim is allowed as it prohibits a safe and effective range of motion. We will also ask any students to remove their shoes before getting on the mats, so they should be prepared to be barefoot for most of the time.
We prohibit clothing with metal zippers, exposed buttons, grommets or other decorative elements that may get caught on and damage the apparatus, likewise all jewelry must be removed beforehand as they could pinch the student and damage the apparatus. Lastly, we advise against applying lotions or oils before attending class, as they will impede grip.
What should my child wear to class or camp?
We currently do not allow non-participating guests (such as the parents of youth students or people providing rides to our students) to wait in our lobby area while our students take classes or private lessons. We often encourage these guests to take advantage of the other services near the studio–in order to save space in the studio during busy times and help keep students focused on their work.
Can I stay and watch my child?
Our Youth program is for those between 6-14 years of age. Some older teens who develop significant proficiency with an apparatus and exhibit remarkable behavior management may be approved by their teacher for adult classes.
Youth under the age of 6 may take Private Lessons at Shine Fitness Studio with the additional supervision by their parent(s) or guardian(s).
Is there an age limit for classes?
Our level 1 classes do not require any prior experience! Camps also do not require any previous experience. There are no fitness requirements to register for classes, and we welcome all youth students who meet our age requirements.
